Earth Hour ( Indonesian : Earth Hour ) is a global event organized by World Wide Fund for Nature ( WWF ) on the last Saturday of March each year . These activities form of blackout lights that are not needed in the home and office for an hour to raise awareness of the need for serious action against climate change . Event triggered WWF and Leo Burnett was first held in 2007 . At that time , 2.2 million residents of Sydney participated by turning off all lights that are not needed .  After Sydney , a few cities around the world participated in Earth Hour 2008  Earth Hour 2014 will be held on March 29 2014 at 20:30 until 21:30 local time
Meaning of Earth Hour logo itself is the logo of Earth Hour '60 + ' indicates 60 minutes turn off lights at Earth Hour as early ACTION frugal lifestyle energi.Tanda ' + ' indicates a commitment to work together to begin to perform energy-efficient lifestyle . 

Indonesia also do not want to lose to participate in this event . A total of 200 icons in 37 cities last year amounted to 31 cities . several cities in Indonesia extinguished in electricity savings movement to save the earth through Earth Hour Indonesia 2014 , held on Saturday ( 29/3 ) , for one hour , at 20:30 to 21:30 .37 cities in Indonesia to follow Earth Hour :Banda Aceh , Lhoksemauwe , Padang , Pekan Baru , Palembang , Jakarta , Bogor , Depok , Tangerang , Bekasi , Bandung , Cimahi , Sukabumi , Tasikmalaya , Purwakarta , Brass , Yogyakarta , Solo, Semarang , Surabaya , Malang , Batu, Kediri , Sidoarjo , Denpasar , Mataram , Pontianak , Palangkaraya , Banjarmasin,Samarinda , Balikpapan , Sangata , Palu , Sorowako , Makassar , Kendari and Ambon . 

The people of Indonesia with a billion people around the world participate in the action switch off or turn off lights and other electronic equipment are not used , as long as one hour at 20:30 to 21:30 local time .

Nilai penghematan dari aksi Erath Hour sebenarnya tergantung pada tingkat partisipasi dari seluruh rakyat. Namun menurut data yang diperoleh PLN mencatat penurunan beban puncak listrik secara nasional hingga 575 Megawatt. Jika dinilai dengan rupiah, PLN berhasil menghemat biaya Rp 900 juta. Setahun berikutnya, pada Earth Hour 2013, beban puncak listrik di Jakarta turun 236 Megawatt, namun secara nasional malah naik 1.236 Megawatt.Dan pada tahun 2013 sedikit terjadi peningkatan penggunaan listirk disebabkan pada saat itu terjadi pertandingan sepakbola antara Indonesia dan Arab Saudi. Dan sekarang pada tahun 2014 ini Manager Humas Senior PT PLN (Persero) Bambang Dwiyanto mengatakan, beban listrik di Jawa Madura dan Bali (Jamali) turun hingga 509 Mega Watt (MW) atau 2,56 % dibanding beban pada saat yang sama minggu lalu.Yang sebelumnya mencapai 19.869 MW. Sementara  pada peringatan EH, konsumsi listrik berkurang menjadi 19.360 MW. Penurunan terbesar terjadi di Jakarta dan Banten sebesar 386 MW
